Yep, UnicornRider speaks the truth, and pictures don't lie either:

Why can't i save (or paste/copy/move) any file to the sda7 disk which has been mounted. On the other hand, i can do all those things on the sda5 (another disc)?

Probably you don't have permission. Right-click the partition, and check the properties>permissions.

Right, i can only read contents..

will the 'chmod' function do for this?

            Anyway..

when i use the 'man' function on the terminal, i'm redirected to another screen..How do i get back?

Yes, that is the classic CLI method.

              CLI-impaired folk like myself run
              Code:
              kdesu konqueror
, browse to the offending partition, right-click on it and then change the permissions in the tab. On my Linux workstation, I am a group of one, so I give the "dibl" group the read-write privilege, and I'm done.

                Eh? What other screen?

If you open Konsole, and enter
                Code:
                man chmod
it should just put the first page of the chmod manual right there.

":q" is the way to "quit" reading a manual screen and return to the Konsole command prompt.

And it has proven (not only to me) to be by far more reliable than a real Windoze system

The only downside I know of: "wild" 3D stuff is going to overburden the whole construction.

Speaking for no one by myself, the best thing you could do is go help another one convert to Linux. My agenda is to see the Linux installed base double (from 2% to 4%). It takes lots of helping folks to get that to happen.

Although i do have one last request..

Could someone write a more 'elaborate' tutorial sort of a thing to install href="http://www.penguin.ch/dokuwiki/doku....:vmware:model" < this

.I'm going to first try it on this machine, and if i do like it, then on my laptop and then, it's goodbye windows.

                            Sorry for the triple post,

But along with how to use the VMware convertor. It there's a good enough tut, maybe the admin can sticky it for others like me for the future.

                            what do you think?
