for general info, I use the nautilus-dropbox package from the repositories and have never needed to use kfilebox. I deleted the file Steve mentioned but in my case it was not in ~/.dropbox-dist but /var/lib/dropbox/.dropbox-dist/libstdc++.so.6
I'd rather be locked out than locked in.

Suddenly dropbox has started working. I apologize for the offtopic, we're talking about official dropbox package instead of kfilebox... Is there any way to obtain the public links directly from dolphin, instead of opening the dropbox webpage?

        Thanks

But with the Nautilus and Windows Dropbox clients, you can right-click a dropbox-sync'd file in explorer/nautilus, and get an extra sub-menu that does give you the URL for the file.

I'm not aware whether kfilebox gives you this for Dolphin.

Dolphin only shows you the local content on your hard disk.
But there is a dolphin service menu to allow you to interact (possibly create) the links (I think via the dropbox daemon)

Kfiledrop 0.4.9 only allows me to install with GTK. Menu is ugly as hell.
