I use Synaptic as my package manager (johnny come latelies seem confusing).
I reloaded, then marked all updates, then selected a few packages for fresh install.
Before that, the prior update was:
Between these updates, the only issue was a new quirk in file/save and file/open dialogs.
After the 12:12 pm update, the KDE menu lost ALL entries in the Applications category. I would like to figure out how to repopulate that category.
The Favorites menu (after the loss) retained the 6 favorites I had added prior to 12:12 pm, but interestingly, all Favorites entries became lower case!
Another artefact in this matter: open Dolphin, right click an icon, roll down to 'open with...' and THAT dialog is also empty.
I'm going to uninstall openbox on a whim, but openbox was installed well before the KDE menu went nutz.
If someone has seen something like this or has a potential solution, thanks in advance for your response.
