    Desktop CD

    hi
I have downloaded and burned Desktop CD from:
    http://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/linux/...ubuntu/dapper/

I tried booting it from a cd and starting linux.
I get a menu and I choose the first option
("start linux from the cd" or some thing like that)
the I get a messege on the screen
"booting linux ok. starting linux kernel" , this is not the exact text but some thing like that.
I waited for about 15 min but nothing happends.
    What should I do?

      Intel dual core 2.8 GH
      1 GB internal memory
and lots of free space on my hard disk
      my OS is Win xp

The system has plenty of ram for the live session. In the first menu there should be a choice to check the CD itself. Try that to make sure that it's ok, you might just have a corrupt iso or a bad disc.
