glitches in tft

hi there, i'm very new to KUBUNTU and LINUX. I've installed Kubuntu 5.1 on a dell inspiron5000e next to w2k. when i open a window in kde and move the window round the screen the blue wallpaper gives all kinds of glitches. It looks like there is a setting set wrong. the screen resolution is 1024x768@60hz the same as w2k. what did i do wrong? during the install there were no questions what so ever about the screen....

Try reconfiguring your X-Server:
Type this into the konsole:

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf~

Then:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

And follow the on-screen instructions.

Ok Paitrick, i've don that what you've suggested, it didn't help me because i don't know what the setting has to be, i'll keep trying and i'll report if it works...
