    how to use grub-set-default

Having got grub to boot either windows or kubuntu - Boots Kubuntu if reset then Boots Windows.

Now what I want to do is if I power down the system how can i get it to do grub-set-default 0

as if its in kubuntu it will default to 1 - Windows which is what I want it I reset.

I have tried in the rc.0

    grub-set-default 0

    but still boots into windows

    Many thanks

    Martin

    Re: how to use grub-set-default

I am not an expert here buy it sounds like you need to set the 'default boot OS' in grub's config file - /boot/grub/menu.lst file.

Search on 'menu.lst' in the forum for the howto to edit and make the changes.
--please make a backup of the menu.lst file before you change it.

Some else on forum can guide you on it.

    Ciao,
    Charlie
