    Boot from USB stick

I'm new to kubuntu and I wanted to try it out without installing on my laptop.
So I decided to give it a go on a usb stick.
The first trial was with YUMI but I could not boot from that disk.
The second attempt was with Rufus and than I can boot but after changing the regional settings and the keyboard the stick becomes unbootable.
I'm running on a Lenovo X1 extreme second generation and I'm using it with UEFI enabled

What is the video card in the machine? If it has Nvidia card you will need to append the grub boot line with the parameter "nomodeset" to get it to boot properly.
you can follow the instructions here. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/e...-linux-booting
the info is for ubuntu but should work with kubuntu also.
