I can not update per console

Hi.

When I receive a notice from the applet that there are updates available I prefer to open the console and update but, it tells me that the database is locked and I have to kill the update process to be able to free the database. Is there any way to update per console if I have to do that?

Simply remove the lock file: sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock
