Google Chrome. Recent versions not saving mhtml

I like to save certain web pages as web archive, but since the latest couple of Google Chrome versions this is no longer possible.
Have searched and found the following: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/is...tail?id=411850

Apparently the solution is to add an environment variable as per the last poster on the above site.

Seems, bug in KDE. Environmental variable (NO_CHROME_KDE_FILE_DIALOG=1) fixes it. Now files are saved correctly.

As I am not familiar with env. variables and how to correctly add them in KDE, please advise how I would add the above variable. I am the only user.

I placed the variable in /etc/environment and that solves the problem. Can now save as web page single file.
Is that the best way ??
