Trouble Installing Wine & Sketchup v8

[Bumpalot]

kubuntu 14.04 64bit, NVidia GForce GTX 550, AMD x4 Athlon, 8G Memory

Have installed wine 1.6 & SketchUpMake-en.exe
Attempt to run Sketchup failed. Hence this message.

Am not sure, but should I have installed 32 bit wine?

did you install it frome in wine (wine tricks)



or DL the .exe and install though wine ?

installing the one in the wine tricks install applications works better IMO

I can't install it - that's my problem.

Am completely lost with this - specific instructions -step-by-step would be appreciated!

PS: Have reinstalled wine as per instructions at http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks
at the end of the installation, this message appears:
You are using a 64-bit WINEPREFIX. If you encounter problems, please retest in a clean 32-bit WINEPREFIX before reporting a bug.
Question: How do I create a 32bit version?

strange ,,,,,, I had used the wine in the repo ,,, installed with muon ,,,,,it is ver 1.6 .

@hear it worked .......on the old box,,, will try now on the new one .

chmod +x winetricks

R-Clicked the SketchUp EXE icon & selected "open it via Wine"

Am now totally lost!!!
