    kubuntu 13.10 errors

    Problem 1: Muon Updates Notification:
    March 5 to today: Software update screen: after clicking Updates notification;
Window is blank for at least 6-10 seconds, then screenshot appears.

Name:	Unknown.png
Views:	1
Size:	18.4 KB
ID:	648124
Clicking More button – drop down menu inactive. But several seconds later Options suddenly appears – was able to start bug report, but was interrupted as System Updates finally completed.
    Is there a bug here?

    Problem 2: kdesudo dolphin command
On initial reinstall of kubuntu 13.10 a month ago, the command kdesudo dolphin did what was expected, with no errors. Now I am getting:
    Code:
    bumpy@bumpyputer:~$ sudo -s
    [sudo] password for bumpy:
    root@bumpyputer:~# kdesudo dolphin
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-bumpy" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
    Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceAdded(QDBusObjectPath)
    Object::connect: No such signal org::freedesktop::UPower::DeviceRemoved(QDBusObjectPath)
QInotifyFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: inotify_add_watch failed: No such file or directory
QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /root/.config/ibus/bus
QPixmap::scaled: Pixmap is a null pixmap
    root@bumpyputer:~#
What can I do to fix this.

    Problem 3:

    Code:
    bumpy@bumpyputer:~$ sudo auto-apt update
    [sudo] password for bumpy:
dpkg: warning: obsolete option '--print-installation-architecture'; please use '--print-architecture' instead
put: 0 files, 0 entries done (0 sec)
    bumpy@bumpyputer:~$
    sudo auto-apt update --print-architecture
dpkg: warning: obsolete option '--print-installation-architecture'; please use '--print-architecture' instead
    /usr/lib/auto-apt/auto-apt-pkgcdb: invalid option -- '-'
    usage: /usr/lib/auto-apt/auto-apt-pkgcdb [option] [command ...]
    command:
            put
            get filename
            list
            del package
    option:
            -v verbose
            -q quiet
            -p profile
            -d debug
            -f dbfile
            -P paths.list
    bumpy@bumpyputer:~$

    Problem 1
I gave up on Muon a long time ago. Sorry I can't be helpful here.

    Problem 2
    The clue is here:
    Code:
Error: "/var/tmp/kdecache-bumpy" is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
That's because you're invoking an unnecessary elevation:
    Code:
    bumpy@bumpyputer:~$ sudo -s
    [sudo] password for bumpy:
    root@bumpyputer:~# kdesudo dolphin
You can omit the sudo -s here. You only need kdesudo dolphin.

    Problem 3
Why are you using auto-apt? That is not the standard APT package installer.

Yes, I've been getting that, but much more briefly, then the wait cursor shows. Just tried it now and it was less than a second.
