    Black screen

Hi, another newbie with a problem of sorts. I installed Kubuntu 13:10 from a DVD that I download from the Kubuntu site and checked the sum was ok. It installed ok alongside Windows 7. I updated all the packages and carried on to install Chrome as I did not like the way Chromium was showing my gmail. The first problem was Chrome did not want to install because it was asking for another file to run. I read through forums that Chrome is not compatible as yet with Kububtu and the KDE desktop?? After a lot of hassle to close down this download I carried on as normal installing firefox ok. Next day I boot up and a black screen is all I can see, did various commands that people had suggested on various forums but still nothing so decided to reinstall. Everythng is ok now except that I have not upadted anything because a few people commented that this is what caused there problem?

    Kubuntu 13:10
    KDE version 4.11.2
    Grub version 0.97 - 29 ubuntu66
grand unified boot loader (legacy version)
    Windows 7
Intel i3 proccessor 64 bit with family intergrated graphics
    4gb ram
    1 hard drive
    1 optical dvd drive.

    Apologies for all the waffle.
