    What program can i use to convert video_ts to avi? Before i was on kubuntu i used cinnamon and there i had winff, is there a kde replacement?

    VLC is a great video converter. You could always use winff if you want. Or Handbrake. Though if being a QT app is important, then VLC is a no brainer. You could also of course do stuff from the command line.

      I use Handbrake and have for years. It's interface is a little intimidating at first because of all the options. It's very powerful in the sense you can do a lot of different things with it. Once you get your defaults set right, it's easily used. I'll just right-click on a .ts file, change the target file name and location, and click start.

      One really useful feature is a Queue option. You can build a whole list on conversions and keep adding to the list, go to bed and check the progress in the morning!
