How can i install Kubuntu to a CF card ?

I have several compaq ia-1 appliances that are ready to run a different os from the dead MSN one.

Problem is it needs to be flash based...now i can run the el-torito image and get slack ware to work.

But what i was wondering if there is anyway i could use the flash and run Kubuntu or Ubuntu from that and who had the steps to make that possible.
