I installed several logon screen themes and the installations showed as successful. But when I go to select the theme I want to use, the themes are not listed under the logon screen themes. Only the default theme is listed. Is there an additional step that I missed to get the themes to work?

No, I think that feature is broken. I have resorted to downloading desired themes from kde-look.org then installing them from my hard drive. That works for sure...Last edited by oshunluvr; Oct 02, 2012, 01:28 PM.

Kdm ?
Known bug with the KDM: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=255453
Earlier:
- http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...ved-Workaround
- http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...ge-Login-Theme
A workaround is to start the KDM KDE control module with the root rights:
Code:kdesudo kcmshell4 kdm
The Kubuntu is moving to the LightDM (12.10): http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...l=1#post302190
With the 12.04: http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...01-Lightdm-KDELast edited by OneLine; Oct 02, 2012, 01:06 PM.

I went through the forums listed. The only get themes this is happening to is the logon screen themes. All other themed locations in Kubuntu have worked just fine. I will however try the workarounds for the logon screens and or installing them after downloading them. Thanks to both of you guys for your responses.
