    [SOLVED]Screen keep turning off

    Hi,

    ok, from the top:
    Kubuntu 11.10
Installed it through Wubi - separate partition though
    KDE 4.7.1
    grub version - 0.97-29ubuntu64
    Other systems - Windows 7.
It's installed on a Netbook - Asus eeePC 1005HA Seashell
    CPU: Intel Atom n270 32-bit
    GPU: Intel GMA 950
    RAM: 2GB
HD: 1x SATA 160GB (three partitions)
    Optical Drives: none

Now may problem/question is this. I don't want for my screen to be turned off, which it does. I disabled the screen saver, checked the power management options. Nothing helped. It still turns off after ~10 minutes being idle. I know it's not a huge issue, but it bugs me. How do I prevent it from doing that?

While on battery only, or when plugged in (on AC power), or both? If while on battery only, check the BIOS for any power settings.

Thanks, worked nicely For some reason the screen saver was still on...:/

        @Snowdog
It was happening both on AC and on battery.

Still have a little problem. I can't make it stick. Once I reboot the settings go back to the default. What do I do?

Try launching (directly) Screensaver as root and make the change. Open a console and type:
            Code:
            kdesudo kcmshell4 screensaver

              Didn't help I'm afraid.

              I was thinking about adding
              Code:
              xset s 0 0
in /etc/rc.local - for some reason it doesn't execute on startup. Despite that every user has execute rights... Or maybe it does, don't actually know, but still nothing happens.

                Re: [SOLVED]Screen keep turning off

In the end I've solved it by creating a shell script and adding it to startup script in the System Settings. Thanks for all your help.
