My internet connection has become much slower after upgrade

Hi,

Could anyone give me a hint,

I recently made a full upgrade through adept, and probably as a result, I found out that my internet connection became much slower when browsing the world wide web, regardless the browser I was using (Konqueror or Fierfox). It really takes ages to download a web page, even when it is mostly text.

I first thought it was related to my internet connection, but it is not, as my browsing experience remains as satisfactory as usual under windows, on the same machine, through the same connection. So it must be related my Kubuntu installation.

I have a modem router at home, and my PC is connected to this router with an ethernet cable.

Could anyone give me a hint. I have absolutely no idea where I should look at.
