I tried to run lspci three times nothing happened. Sorry new to this, Kubuntu is installed on an older compaq pc intel celeron first I upgraded memory to max which is only 512mb still runs slow though any ideas on how might make faster, after get monitor issue fixed. I have it hooked up to my lcd screen. All help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No problem, we all start from the beginning.
Did you try running lspci without the quotations? If so, what, if any, error messages did you get? As far as the speed is concerned, you may want to try a distro that is designed specifically for older systems.
