set uid helper is not correct

    Hi,

    What does this mean

I was prompted to dl some updates after a fresh install but it was only partially successful, and when I rebooted, the screen froze with the mssge:

    Cannot open Konsolekit session

Permission of the setup uid in not correct.

Can this be solved from alive cd or Grub menu?

Im not exactly certain about this but you should go and try to read this might help you out a bit...not sure is that is what you need... http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1195275

Either way when I have some problems with grub just go to grub menu or with a live cd access to the files of grub to change or edit anything in menu.lst /boot/grub (for grub earlier than 1.98).

    ^^
