A Newbie Needs Help Desperately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi i am a newbie and don't know much about Kubuntu and i happen to hav a Kubuntu 8.04.
Well the problem i face is that i have a laptop which has Vista Home Premium.....
and i am trying to install Kubuntu in windows using the option available of course. . But at one pt. of time it shows that an error has occured and it doesn't allow me to proceed.
It simply closes down.
I want both the Vista as well as the Kubuntu to work side by side without making a separate partition for kubuntu and also without harming the performance of Vista.

Please help as i need them both.

If you're installing in Vista, you must be using a virtual machine program. What is it? The Wubi installer?

Also, what exactly does the error message say?

Well it doesn't mention aany particular error. . Anyways i installed by creating a image file (*.iso) and then launching the wubi.exe....
Thank u for taking out ur time and looking up my matter.. and sorry for not deleting the post as i had already installed kubuntu.
