Can't turn computer on after auto-turnoff due to low battery

I have an Acer Travelmate 2440. Recently installed Kubuntu 9.04. It seems that whenever the computer turns off because the battery is low, it is impossible to turn back on. Twice, after a couple of days, it magically turns on again. What happens is that the screen stays blank, as if it was disconnected.

I assume it goes into hybernation when the battery gets too low, and is there a procedure to get back up from hybernation that I do not know? <<

    Thanks

    Hi!

I would remove the battery and the power cord, wait 15 seconds or so and re-connect, it should be fine, no?

Then you can disable hibernation in the System Settings panel (power profiles).

Thanks, I will try it, and get back, if needed.
