Need help with displays, Xinerama

Hey guys, I'm on a fresh kubuntu install and enabled an ATI/AMD proprietary graphics driver for my ATI Radeon HD4670. I have 2 monitors, one at 1920x1200 and a secondary at 1280x1024. They are currently clones and both running at 1280x1024.

After looking around it seems like I need to enable Xinerama in order to have both monitors contain separate desktop areas. Is this correct?

Is this anything else will need for this configuration?

Maybe you can try from within amdcccle ? I am not sure

I can't try because the only computer with two displays I have is my eeepc connected to the TV, and that uses the open source drivers. Even though randr is installed, as well as xinerama, in System Settings I can _set_ each display to its correct resolution, but the actual resolution is the same for both (and the same as the larger tv)


My desktop uses an AMD/ATI IGP but it only has one display, so I can't try there ...
