I installed Publisher under Wine but now I can't save files with it. Not on my harddisk, external disk of USB disk. With all of them I get the same error that I have no permission to write to drive Z?

Re: Publisher 97 and Wine problems
make sure that drive z is mapped to your home directory in winecfg. (enter 'winecfg' in terminal to open up the wine config program)

Re: Publisher 97 and Wine problems
Codeweavers sells a tweaked version of Wine code CrossOver (Linux) that sometimes works much better than Wine... but I searched their compatibility website and Publisher 97 is not list. Publisher 98 is listed as known not to work.

The Wine database appears to be down for me at the moment, but perhaps you can check it later for some information.

I have found that with Wine, just because an application will install without problems does not at all mean it will ever run. Publisher 2003 should probably work well for you.... do you have access to a newer version?
