I get questions, from family and others. Lots of them, and very basic questions. Repository? sudo? Eh?
Keir Thomas has written some excellent basic guides for Ubuntu, but they are primarily aimed at the gnome desktop, and can be very confusing to new kde users. (There are other authors and guides, this is not an advertisement, just an example) The guides on www.kde.org are, as far as I can tell. mostly for kde-3.x, and as we all know, kde-4 does things differently.
KDE-4 is cutting edge technology, which means that developers primarily focus on development, and the documentation lags behind. So it has always been. But nonetheless, can anyone recommend good, BASIC guides for kubuntu and kde-4? By which I mean, ones that answer the question, "OK, I got this screen that says login, now what?"
I'm hoping, here, to start a thread on the availability of basic user guides for kubuntu and kde-4 (if any exist).
