Transfer files from a motorola razr

Is there a way to transfer files such as pictures from a Motorola Razr to my Kubuntu computer? The computer doesn't have working bluetooth so it would have to be through mini USB. Is there a program or a way of doing this?

Re: Transfer files from a motorola razr

Myself I've only ever had phones that couldn't connect to anything (old but indestructable Samsung CDMA ones) or ones that can connect via USB as standards-compliant storage devices (unlocked Nokia GSM ones). So I can't at all speak from experience.

However, a quick google search turned up a three-year old (so likely somewhat outdated) blog post:

The actual project/program in question has a wiki, and though you haven't been specific about which model of "razr" (man i hate that name, heh), here's the master list of models:
    http://moto4lin.sourceforge.net/wiki/Category:Models

When I then checked the repos, at least in Jaunty the following popped up:
    Code:
kmobiletools - KDE application for controlling your mobile phone
moto4lin - file manager and seem editor for Motorola phones (like C380/C650)
opensync-plugin-moto - OpenSync Plugin for syncing with Motorola phones
So from your package manager you should be able to easily install the above-mentioned "moto4lin" package, and there are at least two other programs that sound like they might work.

Hope that helps; report back if you have any problems.
