    Major crash Can't even boot live cd

    Not sure what I did, if anything, but now I'm stuck.
    Jaunty 9.04 KDE 4.2.2, started with fatal error crash signal 11 with different apps. Now It won't even boot from the live cd, so I can't reinstall. I can still get to console, but just learning, so I don't know what to do when I'm there. Will try anything!

    You need to access the BIOS setup on your PC and ensure that you have the CD set as the first boot device.
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      I do, The live cd starts up, then freezes. I've tried 2 tested cds.

        Try something like partedmagic or damn small linux and see whether they come up.

        If they don't then you might want to start thinking about your hardware :P I just had a two month old mobo conk out on me...

          You might be right. I ran a memory test, left the computer on all night and now it works fine. Now I need to figure out what is going bad.
