I was trying to install Kubuntu on my computer and for whatever reason it did not work. So I wanted to run it from the disc and I am getting a prompt for user name and password. What should I be typing in at this time if my install didn't even work?

Re: Password / user name issue
This does not seem logical to me. When you tried to install did you set up a username and password? If you established these, have you tried them?"A problem well stated is a problem half solved." --Charles F. Kettering

Re: Password / user name issue
I don't understand
Is there some linux installation on the computer allreadyDid your kubuntu install start
Is there an other operating system at the harddiskOr does it come from BIOS
More information I think we need
If you have a console from bash, you can try this:
sudo passwd root
(Typ your new password)
(Type again your password)
You will not see anny character coming on the screen if you type the password!
Annyway I don't understand the problemThe diamond can not be polished without friction, <br /> nor a man perfected without trials.
