    Impossible dependencies!

I am not new to Linux, but to Kubuntu. I was using Suse long ago and for the last 3 Years just Mac. Now I sold my MacBook and installed Kubuntu on my Laptop.

In Kontact I was used to have ksync. But I can not find that anymore. Since I was not successful adding a source to adept I downloaded ksync_3.5.5.dfsg.1-6_i386.deb from http://packages.debian.org. Trying to install it asked for libkcal2b. I downloaded that and it asked for the package libkdepim1a.

Now the big problem. libkdepim1a is asking for libkcal2b. How is that possible? I don't know how to install that.

Can someone please help to integrate a source to adept that contains what I need? or can someone help me with the libkcal2b and libkdepim1a problem?

You have not said which version of Kubuntu you installed, but I think your problem is that you are running KDE4 and trying to install a KDE3 package. Kitchensync is not available for KDE4.

      WOW. That is fast!

Yes sorry, I did not mention that. I am running Kubuntu 8.10 and KDE 4.1.2.

Is there any hope that ksync (or any other program that does the same) will be made for kde4? I am trying to sync my Nokia E51 with Kontact.

I think you have asked for something htat will take a little longer. I am not aware of anything, but there is more of KDE4 that I do not know than I do know. You should probably search some KDE sites, and maybe someone else here will give you a better answer.

Thanks anyway. Your answer helps me, even when I did expect something else... I will keep looking for a solution.

I checked the kde forums and found this:
              http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f...130352#p130352

              Maybe that will help.

tnx. I found that page too. The Problem is, that it is a solution for 386i. I have a Core2Dou and i don't find the needed packages for amd64
