    Need some driver help....

I just installed Kubuntu on my Dell Latitude D800 and it runs flawlessly, but I can't get the internet to work. The wireless nor the ethernet. I just want to update and install drivers. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks,

Texas Instruments OHCI IEEE 1394 host contoller for WiFi, and
      Broadcom 570x for ethernet.
EDIT: Also, I accidentally deleted the taskbar at the bottom. How would I go about getting it back?

        Re: Need some driver help....

If you can install the package: bcm5700-source from the ubuntu repo, the package provides the source code for the bcm5700 module provided by Broadcom. You will need make-kpkg from kernel-package to be able to compile modules usable with a Debian kernel.
You will need to install the packages debconf-utils and kernel-package in order to do this, I cannot find any ready package in the repo for the Broadcom ethernet card but if you can create one then at least you can get on the internet and find out more about your wifi problem at: http://www.linux-wireless.org/
Also you might want to try (under Windoze) by going to http://ubuntu.cafuego.net for Broadcom drivers and source codes which might also get you online but they may only have wireless drivers??.

Another place to look for deb packages is http://getdeb.net and if you fish around there maybe you can find something that may be pre-made to suit your needs.

        Hope this helps you further.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that if you open a terminal and type "kdesudo pppconfig" this may may well auto-load your network card just follow the instructions and have your ISP username and password ready, it should be self explanatory and should (in theory) get your network card working!. (fingers crossed!)

pps: for your taskbar click on the desktop with a right hand mouse click and select add panel, then you might want to add widgets that you need as there won't be anything on it!
