    Problem with display on laptop!

    Hey all

I'm new in the linux and especially in the kubuntu community.

I have a toshiba laptop portege m800-107 and i recently installed kubuntu 8.10.
The laptop has the Intel(R) GMA 4500 MHD graphics card.
When i saw the xorg.conf file is empty and it looks like this:

    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Configured Video Device"
    EndSection

    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Configured Monitor"
    EndSection

    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Default Screen"
    Monitor "Configured Monitor"
    Device "Configured Video Device"
    EndSection

Sometimes i get an error message on the screen that it says that a change of resolution was made from some application but i just open tha terminal and some other apps tha doesnt affect the display. In the display manager it says that lvds is at 1200x800 @ 59.91 Hz . Lately i installed compiz. It runs well but sometimes i lose the backgroun from the cube. When i run glxgear it runs on 700fps. I read a lot threads in other forums say something about this diplay driver but they didnt help me out. Does anyone have a clue why my xorg.conf is empty and i have these problems with the display?

Working...
