hello i want to install kubuntu in my laptop but i want to know that everything is going to work eg cooling system battery level etc .i got 2 core amd 1 gb ram nvidia 7000 .thanx

A number of distributions (k)ubuntu included run on a "live CD" basis so you can try them without actually installing them. That will give you a good indication as to whether your hardware will work properly although expect things to be sluggish whilst running from the CD. -
