    Mounting Media

I am a newbie to Linux in general and Kubuntu in particular. I would like to use the window partitions also when I use Kubuntu. How do I mount the media automatically? Do I need to shut down Windows Vista every time or can I mount those partitions even if I prefer hibernate to shutting down? will the same work when I hibernate both the operating systems.

    Re: Mounting Media

Open a console (K Menu > Applications > System > Konsole) and type:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install synaptic ntfs-config
Synaptic is another Package Manager, and far superior to the current Adept Manager. ntfs-config is a GUI configuration utility for setting up your Windoze NTFS partitions for access - it adds the appropriate entries to the /etc/fstab file.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
