quick image resizing?

I'm looking for a quick way to simply resize (dimensions and or pixels) images for emailing and the web , a bit like XP's right click send to amail recipient , but better.
Perhaps a simple script ?

any suggestions ?

image service menu for Konqueror

Kim (KDE Image Menu) is an image service menu for Konqueror's file manager which allows to:

- compress images,
- resize images,
- convert images,
- rotate images,
- rename images,
- resize and send by mail images,
- and more other actions!

Note that mjpegtools is necessary to get the mpeg plugins to work.

IslandStone - you need to install that package using either adept or via the CLI (sudo apt-get install konq-kim)

Picasa (proprietary) is a super-great awesome image managing tool that does resizing "automatically" for emailing... really a great cross-platform app, if you don't mind the closed source.

deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ testing non-free

You can also then backup your photos to the 1 GB of storage... I use a smaller than original size for that to make the free space go further...

Thanks, Playing with konq-kim now , it looks good,and had forgotten about Picasa's being able to cross platform, use that on XP.............

FYI - the 3 Beta is available from the "testing" repo... the automatic red-eye reduction is 1000X better than before.
