No sound after format

After I've formatted my computer, I had troubles with the sound programmes like: amarok, vlc kaffeine doesn't output ANY sound.
Even the web applications doesn't have a sound, but previously (before the format with the same cd) everything was going fine after the updates. I have everything working perfect but even if I updated kubuntu I don't have any sound now,

First, right-click the mixer icon (the little speaker icon on the panel) and choose "mixer" and make sure that the "Front" and/or "Master" and "PCM" sliders are up, and the mute is not on those channels.
