I thought that I had everything set up correctly, but its not working out that way.
I am using Kubuntu 8.04.1, installed from the live cd. I downloaded (on a windows machine) the intel536-hardy_1.deb file, but it would not install. So I downloaded the intel536-hardy_3.deb file and installed that. Now I can dial out using the wvdial, as recommended,it makes the connection (picked up the phone handset and listened), but cannot get any web pages to load.
In the wvdial window it does show two warnings.
1) could not modify /ect/ppp/pap-secrets: permision denied
pap (password authentication proticol) may be flaky.
2) chap (challenge handshake) may be flaky.
Any help on solving this would be greatly appreciated.
I have "0" experience with command lines, so please try to spell it all out.
Thanks for any help.
