It's 11:30 at night... but I really, really want to install Kubuntu... about how long is it going to take? I've done it before, but can't remember for the life of me. I'm used to setting virtually a whole day aside for installing windows... >

If you have the LiveCD (or the Alternate CD/DVD), then less than an hour for the initial installation, assuming no hardware conflicts during installation.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

My laptop installed 8.04 with KDE4 in 15 minutes, from first boot to personal login! Then I had my wifi working before an hour was up!Compaq Presario c727us, 120GB HDD, 2GB DDR2, 1.6GHz, fully working sound, wifi, proprietary buttons, and on board mouse with Kubuntu 8.04 and KDE 4.1Comment

Mine is about 30 minutes, with 7200 RPM harddisk, Processor 3.06 Ghz, 512 RAM. Do all those things affect the installation time anyway??
