enable mysql root access from other computers

Hi guys,

I am really a noob in kubuntu and every thing in linux. Noob i mean probably the biggest noob u've ever seen.

I kinda wanted to connect to this machine's mysql as root. How do i set up this machines mysql server to allow other computers to connect to this machines mysql server under root?

There is a little tick to put mysql installation in windows but linux is a total new thing for me.
Can any one please help me out
