In Kubuntu 6.06 Evolution allowed opening attachments whilst viewing emails.
Why was this left out in Kubuntu 8.04.

Under the heading "Changing the application Evolution opens a file with"
This was found under the heading Kubuntu Tips after googling "evolution email opening attachments kde Kubuntu"
The solution appears to be that Nautilus must be installed in KDE so that Gnome file associations can be used in Evolution running under KDE.
Guess I must try harder with Google next time I have a problem.
