    IEs4Linux problem

I can't seem to figure out how to install Internet Explorer. I get the message:
No user interface available. Use command-line ies4linux or install pygtk. Details: http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/No_GUI
However, that page doesn't exist, nor do I know how to install pygtk (I thought Kubuntu came with it already installed).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can't help beyond telling you that you're not alone - I tried to install it to a friend's KUBUNTU 7.10 and ran into the same problem. Nothing about his setup was out of the ordinary.

In installed IE 6 on Kubuntu 7.10 using this page: http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Installation
If you click on Ubuntu you'll find instructions how to install.
I didn't add the depot for Wine, I just used Wine like it's in the normal repository and it's working fine.

I followed those instructions and got the same results.

Tried the same things, got the same results....
However I can help you get one step further. The package needed to correct the error about pygtk. First this is somewhat misleading, as what really needs to be installed is Python-gtk2 (in adept if you are using Kubuntu). You might also install python-glade2. I'm not sure this is needed. Once this is installed, you get a popup with a few selections in it when you issue ./ies4lunix. Unfortunately some of them apparently point to outdated download points, for example IE55 works, but IE5.1 is not found. Probably not too serious. More importantly, the swflash pointer is also bad. I don't have a fix for this. If you find out any other fixes or ways to get it running please post.
          Thanks

Same problem to me. I could install using "./ies4linux --no-gui".

What is a good reason to use internet explorer? If you need it for IE only websites then you can just emulate IE in a tab...

Still uses wine, but it may be a better solution?
