    Kubuntu 7.10/kppp

    Hi, newbie here.

Just installing Kubuntu7.10 and having problem with dialup (I know, primitive) but necessary.

when setting up isp in kppp I get "/etc/resolv.conf is missing or can't be read"

then it let's me enter connection name but not number. When I click "add" it prompts for nimber and accepts it but won't let me enter password or connect.

    Modem problem?

    driver

I'd appreciate any help as I'd like to make this work for me.

    Thanks.

yeah .. happened also to me. just open a command line and write

    sudo touch /etc/resolv.conf ( enter)

p.s) out of curiosity .. if you just installed the distro, you are aware that kubuntu 8.04 has just been released?

Thanks a lot, I'll try it.

I did see the 8.04 and ordered the disks.

Tried the command and it seemed to work but then still wouldn't accept login/password.

Maybe I'll just wait for 8.04?
