How Do I Remove Kubuntu From A Duel Boot System?

I have a duel boot system with XP Pro and Kubuntu set up on a separate partition.

Using Kubuntu has been a nightmare and I want to remove all trace of both it and Unix from my system forever.

Formatting the Kubuntu partition back to NTFS should do this but it still leaves me with the boot script which I'm sure is run by Unix/Kubuntu.

With no Unix/Kubuntu available I guess it will not run and therefore my XP will not start.

    Any suggestions?

what you call the "boot script" is the "boot loader".
    your guess is wrong.
the boot loader actually is os independent.
deleting linux from your system has nothing to do with the boot loader.
i assume you'll have the grub boot loader installed.
and i assume you have that installed in the disc's mbr.
of course windoze has its own boot loader.
    so, the suggestion is:
    - boot up your windoze
    - use whatever utility windoze makes available to install its boot loader in the mbr

    hth
    gnu/linux is not windoze

Well that was a quick visit.

      Patience is a virtue

Regardless. You can either use your XP pro cd to reinstall the windows bootloader or get youself the supergrub live cd and use that.

If you have neither you will have to get a win dos floppy disc and use a dos command to reinstall the win boot loader. I cannot remember the command but I think it is it is something like:
      Code:
      fdisk /mbr
      Good luck
HP Pavilion dv6 core i7 (Main)
      4 GB Ram
      Kubuntu 18.10
