can I create a bootable dvd clone of Kubuntu install

This is a beginners question. Can I create a bootable dvd clone, possibly with partimage, of my Kubuntu install to be used when something goes wrong with the original install (which I would also clone) so I could go to the internet forums and look at my FF bookmarks, thus feeling more comfortable in doing restore in case anything goes wrong.

One approach might be “remastering” the DVD. That's a whole subject in itself:

(and read through for more references)

Another approach: Make a persistent Live Kubuntu flash drive:

(You can install from this, but NOT install your custom settings.)

Of course, you can always put some things on a flash drive and import them into a normal live Kubuntu DVD/CD session (e.g., bookmarks, email addresses, etc.); but, of course, that's a bit inconvenient.

You'll hopefully get some better responses.
