Slow browsing issue on dual booted XP

I would appreciate any feedback or assistance, I have yet to disable IPv6 which is on the list to do. To summarize my problem I have found that browsing speeds are very slow when booted in kubuntu, however when switched back to XP my speeds are great. Any ideas again would be very appreciated. Thanks.

What verstion of Kubuntu are you running? If it's Gutsy, and you have not disabled the Strigi daemon, that might be affecting browsing speed. Can you provide more information?

      Taking a deep breath...

      First some data:
      • Dell Notebook M1330, 2GB RAM, Duo Core2 2GHZ, Dual-Boot (XP-Gutsy)
      • Fast Cable-Internet Comcast (please see attachment)
      • Netgear Router RP614 V3
      • Dell Notebook M1520, 2GB RAM, Duo Core2 2GHZ, WinXP (soon Dual-Boot)
      • IPv6 is disabled (/etc/modprobe.d/aliases & /etc/hosts), but doesn't matter
      • Strigi daemon is disabled

      Test 1 on Gutsy
      • Starting an SFTP-Upload with Filezilla to my dedivated server (100MB/s) in Gutsy
      • Upload stucks by ~50KB/s, but that's the usual issue with SFTP
      • Surfing on my Notebook as well on the other Notebook is nearly impossible!

      Test 2 on Gutsy
      • Starting an SFTP-Upload with WinSCP over Wine (I'm still missing a decent Linux version of WinSCP and no! I'm not using CLI!) to my dedivated server (100MB/s) in Gutsy
      • Upload stucks by ~50KB/s, but that's the usual issue with SFTP
      • Surfing on my Notebook as well on the other Notebook is nearly impossible!

      Test 3 on Gutsy
      • Starting an SFTP-Upload with Konqueror to my dedivated server (100MB/s) in Gutsy
      • Upload stucks by ~50KB/s, but that's the usual issue with SFTP
      • Surfing on my Notebook as well on the other Notebook is nearly impossible!

Has anyone an explanation for this? What other data can I provide to track this issue down? Can anyone confirm this behavior? Thanks for your time!
