    Kubuntu+Beryl

    Hello I'm new to Linux.
I would like to have Kubuntu and Beryl.
Should I download Gutsy or Dapper?

Also, what is on the DVD that is not on the CD?
I know it says live/alternate along with other packages?
What other packages are they refering to?

    Re: Kubuntu+Beryl

Beryl is a 'dead' project. The packages for installing are still available (at least, they still show in my Adept Manager listing). Compiz-Fusion is what is being developed now, and what ships with Gutsy. I'm running Feisty with Beryl and I like it.

The Alternate DVD comes with the other *ubuntu distos - Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xbuntu, and I think Edubuntu. It also contains quite a lot more installable packages than the LiveCD does.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
