    shutdown problems after upgrade to 7.10

    Posted this on Gutsy Gibbon forum but got no replies - hoping someone here will help.

    Upgraded to 7.10 with no big problems but can't shut down properly and the fix that worked on earlier versions doesn't work now.
    Here's what I'm seeing:
    Network Manager: <WARN> nm_signal_handler(): Caught signal 15 shutting down normally
    Network Manager: <info> Caught termination signal
    Network Manager: <debug> [1195139730.818198] nm_print_open_socks():Open Sockets List
    Network Manager: <debug> [1195139730.818382] nm_print_open_socks():Open Sockets List Done
    Network Manager: <info> Deactivating device eth0
    Network Manager: <WARN> nm_hal_deinit(): libhal shutdown failed - Connection is closed
    Network Manager: nm_dbus_signal_device_status_change: assertion 'cb_data_>data->dbus_connection' failed
    Network Manager: nm_dbus_signal_device_status_change: assertion 'cb_data_>data->dbus_connection' failed

    Any ideas?

    Try following the instruction on this post, which came from this thread; read the whole thing through (it won't take long), just replace the "gedit" command with "nano".

    See if that helps.
