    Can not boot live disk

    When I try the live disk for Kbuntu. I get the error:

    busyboy...

    /bin/sh: can't aceess tty;
    job control turned off

    (initranfs)

    I googled and searched this error but I don't see a fix. Can anyone tell me what's wront?

    When I try my Ubuntu disk it works fine. I have Ubuntu installed on my hard disk but want to try Kbuntu.

    Thanks

    It's actually 'busybox' but ....

    Reboot with the LiveCD and when you are at the menu, press e and type noapci and enter. See if this doesn't get you further along.

    Or, you can boot without the LiveCD and enter your PCs setup (BIOS) and see if you have a Power Management option. If you do, and it is turned on, turn it off. Save and exit. Reboot with the LiveCD.

      Did e and noapci - still same problem.

      I think this is a bug as I do see it in the buglist for 7.04.

      Any other ideas?

        Have you checked your BIOS settings for power management options?

          But that will mean my PC will not have this feature in XP. Can you understand my not wanting to do this? Plus Ubuntu has no such issue...

          I'll look and do it as a temporary test.

            Looked at the Power Management options in the BIOS - there are about 15 of them, most seem disabled. I'm not playing with these settings.

            It's a bug. I'm outta here!
