    Not Recognizing Sound Card

    I just installed Feisty 7.04 64-bit last night. My motherboard has an integral sound card, but I have a creative soundblaster PCI card that I use primarily, but I can not figure out how to tell Kubuntu to use the Creative card instead of the integral one. Both are showing up in the KInfo Center, so I know it sees it...

    Can you disable the onboard chip in your BIOS? That might help.

    There are a lot of posts on Ubuntu Forum about problems with Creative Labs products -- especially the Audigy cards. If you have problems, you might want to search over there.

      Well, I have a Soundblaster X-FI, which, with my luck, is not supported by ALSA, to I shall re-enable my integral soundcard and just switch between that and my Creative whenever I boot back into Windows....
