Need cd for VLC install?

Hi
I'm trying to install VLC however when i click apply changes in adept I get the following message:
Please insert the disc labeled 'Kubuntu 6.06.1 _Dapper Drake_ - Release i386 (20060807.1)' in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter

This puzzles me seeing the only cd I think i used does nothing when I put it in. I also though the beauty of linux is that once installed It is self dependant and needed the cd no more.

Needless to say I have no cd, how can I get around this and install VLC.

open adept
top bar "view" > manage repositories

disable the entry for the Kubuntu CD

you will then be able to install via the net ...
