Still waiting for activation message

New forum member here.

I wanted to setup/edit my own profile and add an avatar, etc; but I get the message:

"papakanush, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

Is there a waiting period for a new member or something?

You need to make a certain number of posts before that can happen and have been a member for a time period, which it is three posts and 30 days. After that, you will be able to edit your profile, etc.
