Yes, I noticed that a couple days ago. This morning it forced me to copy the portion of text in the last message of a thread that i wanted to comment on, quote another msg from the same person, and replace the quote with the copy. However, that method references the wrong msg in the thread, but it works for my purposes."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

I noticed it a couple of days ago too. I also noticed the Green arrow "Back To Top" buttons on each post header. Maybe they were there before and I hadn't noticed ... not sure. I see the vBulletin version here is 4.2.2 and on another forum I use it's v4.2.1. On that forum those "features" aren't there: http://pressf1.pcworld.co.nz/forumdisplay.php?4-PressF1 Perhaps the version difference is the cause.Desktop PC: Intel Core-i5-4670 3.40Ghz, 16Gb Crucial ram, Asus H97-Plus MB, 128Gb Crucial SSD + 2Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 HDD running Kubuntu 18.04 LTS and Kubuntu 14.04 LTS (on SSD).
Laptop: HP EliteBook 8460p Core-i5-2540M, 4Gb ram, Transcend 120Gb SSD, currently running Deepin 15.8 and Manjaro KDE 18.

There is a thread here somewhere where a bunch of us have noted that. It had started at about that time we made note of it.

I installed vBulletin MOD [OzzModz] Hide Quote Buttons In Last Post on September 14th because we have members who constantly use Reply With Quote instead of Reply when responding to the last post, for example, just to say Thank you.
The MOD allows selection of Usergroups that will be affected -- members in these Usergroups don't see Reply With Quote on the last post. It isn't fine tuned enough to allow for selection of individual members, which would be ideal, as we could then impose this limitation on members who abuse using Reply With Quote.
Now before anyone gets their hackles up, by abuse, I mean "using Reply With Quote and not calling out specific areas within the quoted last post."
Those of us who are familiar with communicating on forums know this, and even if affected by this MOD, know how to call out sections within the last post, even without the convenience of the Reply With Quote option. Because of this, I wasn't anticipating that not having it available would be an issue.
But if it is, the MOD can be disabled. Regardless, I'll contact the author and ask if he can include an option to specify specific members to be affected instead of entire Usergroups.Last edited by Snowhog; Sep 24, 2014, 11:23 AM.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Although I see what Snowhog is talking about, I think another valid time to use reply with quote is if you're responding to a particular post within a thread that has splintered or has been hijacked by those of us who (and I number myself in this group ) like to have a bit o' fun with our fellow KFN members. Sometimes it's the only way for the person your commenting to, to know what you're referring to - even if you don't directly comment on their content, per se. I suppose usually in that context, it's rarely the post immediately above.
So as long as you're referring to the post directly above, you really don't need to quote it.
For the record: I was not really filing a complaint, just wondering if I was the only one seeing it.
If we're voting - based on Snowhog's comment and knowing a couple of people he's referencing, I vote the restriction stays.
Sorry if I caused you any unnecessary consternation S'Hog!

Heck no! And I didn't take the comments from all in this thread as confrontational.
The author of the MOD responded to my and one other vBulletin.org Forum members requests for tweaks. He obliged and put the revised MOD out this afternoon! Talk about listening to your customers and providing an improved product. Let's see Microsoft do the same!!
The revised MOD is installed but not yet enabled.
v1.1.0 (September 24, 2014) now has the ability to:
- Added ability to hide only the quote button in the last post, still show the multi-quote button.
- Added ability to hide the quote/multi quote in the last post per userid.
- Added ability to hide the quote/multi quote buttons in the first post per usergroup.
- Added ability to hide the quote/multi quote in the first post per userid.

I'd like your views on whether you think this MOD should or should not be enabled, and why. I'm very involved "behind the scenes" as a KFN Administrator. I continually look for MODs that provide useful features for our members and/or our Administrators.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
